The family and friends of Christie Harding Meadows started this scholarship fund in his memory. Chris died suddenly in July, 2004, he was 56 years old. Chris was active in the FFA, became a successful farmer, drove a school bus, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His wife Ruth and children Christy, Amanda, and J.J., as well as many friends, started this endowment that will generate income for need and merit based scholarship for graduates of Raleigh County schools. First consideration will be given to a SSHS student participating in Future Farmers of America and/or a Shady student whose parent is or has been a school bus driver or mechanic for the Raleigh County public schools.
