Ragland-Bowers Scholarship
Eligibility
Apply: Contact WVU School of Law or WVU School of Engineering & Mineral Resources. Contingent upon your field of study.
- Students attending the WVU College of Law or the WVU School of Engineering & Mineral Resources.
- Residents of WV with preference being given to Raleigh, Fayette, and/or Wyoming Counties’ residents who are students or prospective students;
- Awarded on the basis of need & academic ability.
- Preference to be given to a student in mining and/or civil engineering; if there is no qualified applicant, the scholarship can go to a student in another engineering field. It is the intent of the donor that scholarships be for $1,000 minimum for College of Law and if sufficient income $1,000 minimum for the School of Engineering & Energy Resources.

N. Joe and Alice Rahall Family Scholarship
Eligibility
Apply: Contact BAF to confirm the current eligible school.
- Scholarship rotates between eight designated schools Bluefield State University, Concord University, Marshall
- Need and merit based for graduating senior as well as qualifying college upper classmen;
- Must have graduated from a high school in the 3rd Congressional District;
- Commit to take at least one communication class;
- Pursue a major related to technology and economic development;
- Preference will be given to those who are first generation college students and participate in some community service activity.

Ramella Home Plate Scholarship
Eligibility
- Need based, low to moderate personal/family income;
- Residing in McDowell, Wyoming, Raleigh, or Fayette counties (2years or longer);
- Will be attending any public school in WV.
Donald E. Rasmussen and Paul J. Kaufman Memorial Scholarship

- Individuals who can establish they have been or are a Southern West Virginia coal miner or descendants of a Southern West Virginia coal miner,
- Preference given to a Raleigh County coal miner or a descendant of a Raleigh County coal miner.
- Applicants must indicate their relationship to a coal miner with their application.
- While the scholarships may be given to help pursue a professional or para-professional education, preference is given for scholarships in the medical field such as nursing, medicine, para-medicine or therapy.

Edwin and Lanier File Ratcliffe Endowed Scholarship
Eligibility
- Need based;
- Graduating seniors of any public high school located in Raleigh County, WV;
- Attending any accredited college, university or technical school;
- Recipients must have earned a 3.25 GPA or its equivalent, excelled in math and/or science in high school;
- Majoring in math or science
Dwayne Richardson Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility
- Need based;
- Woodrow Wilson High School matriculating seniors;
- Minimum 3.0 GPA;
- Must have played high school basketball at WWHS for senior year;
- Essay component.

Malvin C. Ross Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility
- Woodrow Wilson High School graduate
- Must have attended Stratton Elementary School for at least their final year of primary school
- Based upon both need and merit.
- Encouraged to address the students at Stratton Elementary at a mutually convenient time.
- Scholarship can be used for any accredited post-secondary education including college, junior college, university, trade school, or technical college.
Brooklyn Nicole Runion Scholarship Fund
Eligibility
- Graduating senior of Shady Spring High School
- Based upon both need and merit.
- Field of study limited to education field with a preference for early childhood or elementary education. If, there are no qualifying applicants, middle or high school teach field will become eligible.
