Eligibility

• Concord University student pursuing an elementary education major;
• Evidence of academic promise and financial need;
• Preference will be given first to eligible candidates from Mercer County, WV and secondly to eligible candidates from Raleigh County, WV.

Siblings Kenneth R. “Chip” and Margaret Lazenby established this scholarship fund in memory of their great aunt who taught at Mercer Elementary School for most of her 40 year teaching career. Scholarship applicants must be elementary education majors at Concord University; preference will be given to applicants from Mercer County and secondarily from Raleigh County.
