Planned giving is an excellent opportunity to leave a gift to the community by making provisions through your will. Legacy gifts are extremely flexible and allow you to enjoy tax benefits while perpetually fulfilling your charitable interests.
Some examples of legacy gifts include: Bequests – You can designate Beckley Area Foundation as a beneficiary of your estate, to receive a certain dollar amount or as the residuary or contingent beneficiary. Such bequests are free of estate and inheritance taxes. Charitable Remainder Trusts – Allows you to receive the income of the trust during your lifetime, while ensuring the remainder of the trust (when terminated) will be used to support your charitable interests. Life Insurance – It is possible to name BAF as the owner and beneficiary of a new or existing insurance policy. Beckley Area Foundation is a 501-c-3 non-profit community charity as recognized by the Internal Revenue Service, and all donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. |
