Dr. Thomas Jarrett left a generous testamentary gift to BAF in the amount of $250,000, provided that BAF matches that amount within 2 years from the date of his death on Oct. 22, 2023. Any donations that fall under the following guidelines will be matched until funds are exhausted. Matching dollars will be added into the appropriate funds after October 22, 2025, or once the matching opportunity has been fully exhausted.
Eligible donations:
Any new fund established
Any donation of $2,500 or more to an existing endowed fund

How does a matching opportunity work? All donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar if they meet one of the eligibility requirements. Example: A $2,500 donation to a BAF endowed fund will be matched and become a $5,000 donation.
What is the minimum amount needed to establish a new fund? A Named Unrestricted Fund will only require $1,250 to establish, while any other type of fund will require $2,500.
Will all donations to new funds be matched? Only the establishing gift will be matched unless it meets one of the other eligibility requirements.
How long will this match be available? This match will end once funds have been exhausted, or on October 22, 2025.
Will BAF match a pass-through gift? Pass-through gifts are not eligible to be matched.
Will BAF match a bequest? Bequests are not eligible to be matched.
Is there a maximum amount eligible to be matched? $50,000.
