The Beckley Area Foundation provides oversight for 190 scholarship funds established by individuals, firms and organizations wishing to assist students in furthering their education. While the majority of scholarships benefit Raleigh County applicants there are others designated for Fayette, Summers, Webster, and Wyoming students.
BAF’s application process uses a ‘universal approach’ allowing the applicant to be directed to multiple
scholarship opportunities, for which they are eligible, while completing only one common application.
Following the creation of an account you will click the Apply button for the Universe,
then complete the application's common questions.
The next page will be a confirmation message identifying the scholarship opportunities for which you
are eligible to apply, and which scholarships require answering supplemental questions.
You will need to review your additional scholarship opportunities, then select and complete supplemental
questions for the Opportunities you have chosen to pursue.
Hints for Applying
Deadlines matter -- plan to meet early deadlines, if applicable.
Don't delay in filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)!
Complete all questions accurately.
Remember to upload required supplemental documents.
Retain a copy of all documents for your records.
Use your full legal name -- no nicknames!
Name on your application must match the name on your social security card.
