- Raleigh County students attending University of Charleston-Beckley;
- Pursuing a health science/medical related field.

This endowment fund recognizes one of the founders of Beckley Hospital, a respected surgeon and businessman who came to Beckley in 1922. Income from this fund provides scholarships for area students pursuing studies in a health science field at MSU. It now benefits this same field of study at University of Charleston-Beckley.
