Eligibility

Attendance at Daniels Elementary at some time; applicants must indicate what years they attended Daniels;
An essay is required to include a 300-500 word essay describing their self, interests, accomplishments, personal and educational goals and explaining the need and or desire to receive this particular scholarship.

This scholarship fund was created through the efforts of former students and fellow teachers of Genevieve Lilly who spent 49 of her 52-year teaching career at Daniels Elm. Robin Durrett led the fund raising eff orts which provide college scholarship aid for students who once attended Daniels Elementary.

Confirmed in Compliance with National Standards Beckley Area Foundation is a member of the National Council on Foundations, Philanthropy WV, Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Gift Planners of WV and WV Nonprofit Association. The Foundation will make available for public inspection the last three years of its tax documents, including Internal Revenue Service Forms 990 and 990-T (if applicable), any audit, and its tax exempt letter. If the request for any of these documents is made in person, the requested documents will be provided on the day of the request if possible. If the request is in writing (including email), copies will be provided within 30 days of the request. The requestor may be charged a reasonable fee for the cost of copying, plus storage. Questions concerning documents should be addressed to either the Executive Director or Board Chair of the Foundation.
