Hazel Patton McGee Memorial Fund

This discretionary fund will generate income to help respond to the ever-changing opportunities presented over time in Raleigh County. Proceeds from the sale of a classic car donated by son-in-law Chuck Lucas and daughter Carolyn Lucas were combined with a match provided by the Massey Foundation to create a lasting memorial to this remarkable woman. She worked for Drs. Cooper and Klingensmith from 1962 until 1986, and was an active member of the Beckley Presbyterian Church, the Beckley Woman’s Club, Beckley Garden Club and Black Knight Country Club.

Confirmed in Compliance with National Standards Beckley Area Foundation is a member of the National Council on Foundations, Philanthropy WV, Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Gift Planners of WV and WV Nonprofit Association. The Foundation will make available for public inspection the last three years of its tax documents, including Internal Revenue Service Forms 990 and 990-T (if applicable), any audit, and its tax exempt letter. If the request for any of these documents is made in person, the requested documents will be provided on the day of the request if possible. If the request is in writing (including email), copies will be provided within 30 days of the request. The requestor may be charged a reasonable fee for the cost of copying, plus storage. Questions concerning documents should be addressed to either the Executive Director or Board Chair of the Foundation.
