Paul and Loretta K. Hunter Memorial Fund for Helping Hands Resource Center
Loretta K. Clark Hunter died in March, 2012. She had met with a local attorney years before and prepared a will that outlined her wishes regarding the final disposition of her assets. Her husband, Paul Daniel Hunter, died in 1999. Paul had been employed as an equipment salesman and serviceman for Heavy Machines, Inc. Loretta, a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, was employed by Stone and Thomas and then Elder-Beerman for many years. Her attorney, Matthew Fragile, stated: “the couple did not have any children, and Mrs. Hunter wanted her estate to live on to help the citizens and pets of southern West Virginia.” This endowment is one of four funds established due to her generosity and forethought. Helping Hands provides non-perishable food supplies, household goods and clothing to people in need.
