Pete and Beverly “Cookie” Francesa Fund

This unrestricted endowment was established after Pete’s death in 2013. He had retired from Roche Laboratories in 2000 following a successful career in sales. He served on the Board of Trustees of the First Baptist Church, the Raleigh County Board of Health, and the Salvation Army. A member of the Beckley Rotary club, he also served as an interim member of the Beckley Common Council. He is survived by Beverly “Cookie” Thompson Francesa, his wife of 46 years and long-time educator in the Raleigh County Public School system. The Francesa's have been regular donors to BAF.

Confirmed in Compliance with National Standards Beckley Area Foundation is a member of the National Council on Foundations, Philanthropy WV, Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Gift Planners of WV and WV Nonprofit Association. The Foundation will make available for public inspection the last three years of its tax documents, including Internal Revenue Service Forms 990 and 990-T (if applicable), any audit, and its tax exempt letter. If the request for any of these documents is made in person, the requested documents will be provided on the day of the request if possible. If the request is in writing (including email), copies will be provided within 30 days of the request. The requestor may be charged a reasonable fee for the cost of copying, plus storage. Questions concerning documents should be addressed to either the Executive Director or Board Chair of the Foundation.
