​Robert L. Kosnoski Scholarship Fund

Eligibility
  • Graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School;
  • Recipient must pursue course leading to a degree or certificate from an accredited institution such as college, junior college, trade school, or technical school;
  • The primary criterion in awarding this scholarship is the “need” of the beneficiary for funds to continue his/her education.

Mr. Kosnoski served as president of Paint Creek Coal Co. and Mountaineer Structures. His major business involvement for more than three decades has been in the coal and construction industries. He established this scholarship fund to generate income to assist WWHS graduates with fees for tuition, instruction and books at any accredited institution of higher learning.

Confirmed in Compliance with National Standards Beckley Area Foundation is a member of the National Council on Foundations, Philanthropy WV, Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Gift Planners of WV and WV Nonprofit Association. The Foundation will make available for public inspection the last three years of its tax documents, including Internal Revenue Service Forms 990 and 990-T (if applicable), any audit, and its tax exempt letter. If the request for any of these documents is made in person, the requested documents will be provided on the day of the request if possible.  If the request is in writing (including email), copies will be provided within 30 days of the request. The requestor may be charged a reasonable fee for the cost of copying, plus storage. Questions concerning documents should be addressed to either the Executive Director or Board Chair of the Foundation.
