The Beckley Presbyterian Church Fund in Memory of Edna Mae and John L. Phillips

Donate Now
The Phillips lived in Beckley for 48 years where John worked as a salesman for Westinghouse, Jeffrey Manufacturing and National Electric. Edna Mae taught physical education for over 20 years and was the first woman to serve on the board of Appeals of the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission. The couple retired in Florida to live near their daughter. John died in 2007 and Edna Mae died in 2014. They were not West Virginia born, nor did they die in the Mountain State. However, they considered Beckley, WV, their home and they wished to leave a lasting gift that will benefit this community forever more. This was accomplished with assets from a trust. Income shall be used to benefit the Beckley Presbyterian Church for purposes approved by the ministerial staff and the church Session.
