The File Girls Cystic Fibrosis Scholarship Fund

Eligibility

Weighted for educational merit, personal achievement and financial need;
West Virginia high school matriculating senior with a confirmed diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis. Recipient will provide physician’s letter affirming a diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis as part of the application process;
The scholarship is to be awarded for post-secondary education through college, vocational or technical schools.

Rev. Ellen Lilly File established this endowed fund whose income shall be used for an annual scholarship award to assist students with Cystic Fibrosis in furthering their post-secondary education and becoming employable. Recipients must graduate from a West Virginia high school and have a confirmed diagnosis of CF. Preference will be given to Raleigh County, WV students. The renewable scholarship may be used for college, vocational or technical school.

Confirmed in Compliance with National Standards Beckley Area Foundation is a member of the National Council on Foundations, Philanthropy WV, Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Gift Planners of WV and WV Nonprofit Association. The Foundation will make available for public inspection the last three years of its tax documents, including Internal Revenue Service Forms 990 and 990-T (if applicable), any audit, and its tax exempt letter. If the request for any of these documents is made in person, the requested documents will be provided on the day of the request if possible. If the request is in writing (including email), copies will be provided within 30 days of the request. The requestor may be charged a reasonable fee for the cost of copying, plus storage. Questions concerning documents should be addressed to either the Executive Director or Board Chair of the Foundation.
