Woodrow Wilson Class of 1957 Scholarship Fund Honoring Ruth Larew
When the Woodrow Wilson Class of ’57 gathered for their 50th reunion, they decided to establish a permanent endowment in honor of a very special teacher who served as their class sponsor. Ruth Larew taught biology, guided her charges, and listened to what they had to say. “She was not the typical teacher; her sense of humor, her genuine interest in her students and her desire to make learning fun, led to mutual admiration, respect, and affection,” commented Colette Minter Meadows who organized the successful fund drive to endow the scholarship. This is a need and merit based scholarship for graduates of WWHS.
