Albert King Minter, Jr. Fund

Led by his wife Shirley, A.K. Minter’s children and grandchildren established this fund as a surprise birthday present. He was presented a card indicating that they wanted to recognize him as “being the most giving, the most unselfish husband, father and friend.” Each year A.K. will have the opportunity to recommend a charitable recipient of the income generated from this donor advised fund. A successful businessman, civic leader, community volunteer and devoted family man, A.K.’s personal philosophy compliments the BAF mission of making our community a better place to live, work, play, and retire.

Confirmed in Compliance with National Standards Beckley Area Foundation is a member of the National Council on Foundations, Philanthropy WV, Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Gift Planners of WV and WV Nonprofit Association. The Foundation will make available for public inspection the last three years of its tax documents, including Internal Revenue Service Forms 990 and 990-T (if applicable), any audit, and its tax exempt letter. If the request for any of these documents is made in person, the requested documents will be provided on the day of the request if possible. If the request is in writing (including email), copies will be provided within 30 days of the request. The requestor may be charged a reasonable fee for the cost of copying, plus storage. Questions concerning documents should be addressed to either the Executive Director or Board Chair of the Foundation.
