Caperton-Banks-Smith Fund

This named discretionary fund was established in honor of Mary Caperton Banks Smith and in memory of her husband Dr. Clyde “Pinky” Arthur Smith and her parents Caroline Caperton Banks and Dr. McRae C. Banks. The fund was a Mother’s Day gift presented to “Mary Cape” by her children, Caroline Smith Morton and her husband P. Holmes Morton, M.D., and Clyde A. Smith, Jr. and his wife Cathy. “Mary Cape” Smith was the second recipient of the Spirit of Beckley Award, presented in recognition of her many contributions to our community.
