Delaney Lee Wykle Memorial Scholarship Fund

Eligibility
  • Award is equally weighted for financial need and educational merit;
  • Applicants must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA;
  • Recipients must be residents and high school graduates of the WV counties of Raleigh and Summers;
  • Award is to be for post-secondary nursing education at an accredited four year nursing program;
  • Recipients must be a college sophomore or upperclassman and provide evidence of acceptance into the institution’s approved nursing program;
  • The recipients are not limited to attendance at a particular institution; but, the public school must be within the state of West Virginia;
  • Recipients must be pursuing a bachelor of science degree in the field of nursing.

Delaney's contagious joy for life and positive energy influenced those around her. Following her death on July 4, 2019, her parents decided to establish a permanently endowed scholarship in her name. Knowing that Delaney relished learning and had an innate zeal to nurture and aid others, her family created this scholarship to benefit nursing students from Raleigh and Summers counties.

Confirmed in Compliance with National Standards Beckley Area Foundation is a member of the National Council on Foundations, Philanthropy WV, Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Gift Planners of WV and WV Nonprofit Association. The Foundation will make available for public inspection the last three years of its tax documents, including Internal Revenue Service Forms 990 and 990-T (if applicable), any audit, and its tax exempt letter. If the request for any of these documents is made in person, the requested documents will be provided on the day of the request if possible.  If the request is in writing (including email), copies will be provided within 30 days of the request. The requestor may be charged a reasonable fee for the cost of copying, plus storage. Questions concerning documents should be addressed to either the Executive Director or Board Chair of the Foundation.
