City of Beckley Resident of Ward V;
Attendance at an accredited higher education program trade and vocational schools, or 2 and 4 years colleges.

An anonymous donor made the initial gift to start building this scholarship fund that will provide scholarship assistance for high school graduates who live in the East Beckley, Ward V area. The donor stated, “It is my time to give back to help others. This fund will create a place for poor people like me to add their voice to helping our young people find access to higher education . . . there are many people who can add $10, $20, $50 or more. Private people doing public good . . . we all can help.”

Confirmed in Compliance with National Standards Beckley Area Foundation is a member of the National Council on Foundations, Philanthropy WV, Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Gift Planners of WV and WV Nonprofit Association. The Foundation will make available for public inspection the last three years of its tax documents, including Internal Revenue Service Forms 990 and 990-T (if applicable), any audit, and its tax exempt letter. If the request for any of these documents is made in person, the requested documents will be provided on the day of the request if possible. If the request is in writing (including email), copies will be provided within 30 days of the request. The requestor may be charged a reasonable fee for the cost of copying, plus storage. Questions concerning documents should be addressed to either the Executive Director or Board Chair of the Foundation.
