Garland and Opal Snuffer Memorial Fund

Ginny Snuffer Somerville of Daniels, WV, started this fund to honor the memory of her parents. The income will be go to the Beckley Salvation Army to support the summer programs for local children that allow them to attend summer camp away from home plus the day-camp that keeps them busy when they return home. The Snuffers were married in 1938. Garland opened and ran his own auto repair garage for 60 years in Glen View, Raleigh County. Opal’s foremost priority was taking care of her daughter and her husband; she excelled as a homemaker, cook, gardener and poet. She died in 1992 and Garland died in 1997.

Confirmed in Compliance with National Standards Beckley Area Foundation is a member of the National Council on Foundations, Philanthropy WV, Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Gift Planners of WV and WV Nonprofit Association. The Foundation will make available for public inspection the last three years of its tax documents, including Internal Revenue Service Forms 990 and 990-T (if applicable), any audit, and its tax exempt letter. If the request for any of these documents is made in person, the requested documents will be provided on the day of the request if possible. If the request is in writing (including email), copies will be provided within 30 days of the request. The requestor may be charged a reasonable fee for the cost of copying, plus storage. Questions concerning documents should be addressed to either the Executive Director or Board Chair of the Foundation.
