Hunter Cemetery Endowment

The Raleigh County Historical Society and the City of Beckley provided the initial gifts to start a fund which will generate income to help with the maintenance costs at one of the city’s oldest cemeteries started before perpetual care plans were required. Family members, area churches, and neighbors are encouraged to add to the endowment so it will produce adequate income to cover expenses.

Confirmed in Compliance with National Standards Beckley Area Foundation is a member of the National Council on Foundations, Philanthropy WV, Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Gift Planners of WV and WV Nonprofit Association. The Foundation will make available for public inspection the last three years of its tax documents, including Internal Revenue Service Forms 990 and 990-T (if applicable), any audit, and its tax exempt letter. If the request for any of these documents is made in person, the requested documents will be provided on the day of the request if possible. If the request is in writing (including email), copies will be provided within 30 days of the request. The requestor may be charged a reasonable fee for the cost of copying, plus storage. Questions concerning documents should be addressed to either the Executive Director or Board Chair of the Foundation.
