Judy G. Thomas Memorial Scholarship Fund

Pat Miser, sister of Judy Thomas, as well as friends, students and teaching associates have joined together to create a scholarship fund in memory of this outstanding educator. Judy Thomas died in 2009, after fighting a short battle with cancer. She became principal of Beckley-Stratton in Dec. 2003 and was regarded as well-liked, fair and very professional by her colleagues. She worked in the Raleigh County school system for 31 years, serving at Park Junior High, Maxwell Hill Elm. and WWHS, in addition to Beckley-Stratton.

Confirmed in Compliance with National Standards Beckley Area Foundation is a member of the National Council on Foundations, Philanthropy WV, Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Gift Planners of WV and WV Nonprofit Association. The Foundation will make available for public inspection the last three years of its tax documents, including Internal Revenue Service Forms 990 and 990-T (if applicable), any audit, and its tax exempt letter. If the request for any of these documents is made in person, the requested documents will be provided on the day of the request if possible. If the request is in writing (including email), copies will be provided within 30 days of the request. The requestor may be charged a reasonable fee for the cost of copying, plus storage. Questions concerning documents should be addressed to either the Executive Director or Board Chair of the Foundation.
