  • Must be resident of Raleigh County;
  • Pursuing an accredited nursing program (including technical, baccalaureate or    advanced nursing education programs);
  • Merit and need based.​

In 1964 Dr. Owen Meadows became one of the original members of the Beckley Associates in OB-GYN with Drs. Charles Merritt, Warren Elliott, and Robert Pulliam. He retired in 2000 due to ill health and passed away in 2012. During his career he delivered over 8,000 babies and was devoted to his patients. His wife of 37 years, Brenda Meadows, established this scholarship fund to honor his memory in a lasting, meaningful way. The income generated will be used for scholarship assistance for individuals pursuing an accredited nursing program, including technical, baccalaureate and advanced nursing education programs. Both merit and need shall be considered in the selection process; applicants must be residents of Raleigh County.
