David Ramella of McDowell Supply Company established this fund to support several of his charitable interests. 60% of the annual available income shall be used for a need based scholarship for an applicant with low to moderate personal/family income, residing in McDowell, Wyoming, Raleigh or Fayette counties for at least the prior two years. There is no age restriction and the scholarship may be applied to the cost of attending any public West Virginia college, university or vocational-technical school. Another portion of the fund income will be directed to St. Francis De Sales Catholic School in Beckley. Once Marshall University builds its own baseball field in Cabell County, a third distribution will be made to purchase baseballs for each of Marshall’s home conference games played on its own field.
