Eligibility:

• The scholarship will be weighted for educational merit as evidenced by the Foundation’s application process. To be eligible student must have between a 2.0 and 3.0 grade point average;
• Independence High School, located in Coal City, WV, matriculating seniors.​

Robert Manning's close friend, April Harrison, established this scholarship to remember him and to benefit Independence High School graduating seniors. Many will remember Robert as the owner of Manning's Homecooked BBQ. This kept him busy on the festival circuit and at the City of Beckley’s Fridays in the Park.     “Robert was truly one of a kind. If you knew him, you liked him. He had an open heart, a golden personality, and once he considered you a friend, he had a fierce loyalty that could not be matched,” said Ms. Harrison.
