​Shady Spring High School Class of 1986 Scholarship Fund

Eligibility
  • Shady Spring High School matriculating senior;
  • Must have attended SSHS for all four years and actively participated in at least one school-sanctioned club, extra-curricular activity, or sport;
  • Based on educational merit and community involvement;
  • 3.0 to 4.0 GPA;
  • Participation in service activities either through SSHA, a church, or community;
  • Preference given to students with relatives from the SSHS Class of 1986.

The Shady Spring High School Class of 1986 Scholarship Fund seeks to recognize and support exceptional students. By alleviating some of the financial burdens, the scholarship aims to allow students to focus on their studies and maximize their potential. The SSHS Class of ‘86 encourages alumni, local businesses, and philanthropists to contribute and support the leaders of tomorrow.

Confirmed in Compliance with National Standards Beckley Area Foundation is a member of the National Council on Foundations, Philanthropy WV, Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, Charitable Gift Planners of WV and WV Nonprofit Association. The Foundation will make available for public inspection the last three years of its tax documents, including Internal Revenue Service Forms 990 and 990-T (if applicable), any audit, and its tax exempt letter. If the request for any of these documents is made in person, the requested documents will be provided on the day of the request if possible.  If the request is in writing (including email), copies will be provided within 30 days of the request. The requestor may be charged a reasonable fee for the cost of copying, plus storage. Questions concerning documents should be addressed to either the Executive Director or Board Chair of the Foundation.
