The Lynch Memorial Fund
The Oak Hill High School – Collins High School Alumni Association created this fund in memory of William Roosevelt Lynch, one of the 29 miners who died on April 5, 2010, at the Massey Upper Big Branch Mine. A 1968 graduate of Collins High School; he received a 4-year basketball scholarship to Glenville State College where he graduated in 1972. He taught and coached at Collins Middle School and Oak Hill High School before going to work in the mines. His wife Genny and children Mon Lynch and Miki Rogers were pleased to learn that this fund will generate income to send a student to a summer college basketball camp.
