Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1969 Memorial Scholarship Fund
The class of 1969 is known as the largest graduating class in the history of WWHS. After graduation, these 669 individuals went on to accomplish many things here in Beckley and in places far from home. Current Governor Jim Justice is a member of the WWHS Class of 1969 and in the words of alumnus Delores Goode Vaughan, “we take pride in that, not for political reasons, but because he was our friend and classmate. And now, we are all Senior Citizens and have lived through FIVE decades.”
Although many of the classmates remain, some have passed away. It is because of these individuals that the remaining alumni wish to remember them by establishing this memorial scholarship fund. Several alumni of this class have established this scholarship fund utilizing the "building over time" option. Anyone wishing to remember a member of the Class of 1969 can donate to the fund and help to make it a reality. Once fully established, income will be used for need and merit based scholarships for WWHS graduating seniors pursuing a course of study leading to a teaching degree.
Scholarship eligibility information and how to apply can be found in the scholarship section of our website.
