Joyful Life Baptist Church Establishes New Funds At BAF In Memory Of Peggy “Sassy” Holliday

Joyful Life Baptist Church has established two new funds in memory of Peggy “Sassy” Holliday. The first fund will be designated to provide support for the Salvation Army and Hospice of Southern WV. The second fund will be designated to provide support for The Carpenter's Corner, Bread of Life Outreach Center and Fishes & Loaves. Distributions will rotate each year.

“Peggy was young when she married, and her husband asked his mother to take her to the grocery store and teach her how to shop. Her Mother-in-law was telling her what she should be buying. Peggy finally said to her "If I have to cook it and eat it, I will buy what I want." Her Mother-in-law said to her "You're a Sassy little thing aren't you." She has had the nickname “Sassy” ever since.”

Peggy was a 1956 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a member of the Joyful Life Baptist Church. Peggy loved her church and was very active with her church family. She loved people and never met a stranger. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh with others.
